Athletics Continue Skid Thanks to Easley, Rockies
|
Colorado and Oakland duked it out at Oakland Coliseum and the Rockies came out victorious.
The Colorado Rockies powered past the Oakland Athletics, 9-7, at Oakland Coliseum. Damion Easley went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. The last-place Athletics have lost 7 consecutive games.
Colorado used the timely hitting of Steve Gibralter to capture the win. The center fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rockies ahead, 7-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Colorado manager .
