Multi-HR Game for Mitchell in 8-3 Win
Cleveland third baseman Kevin Mitchell was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Mitchell, who finished 2nd in the FL in wins above replacement with 8.0 in 1987, went 2-3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Spiders. The Spiders go to 60-62, putting them 4th in the Federal League East Division.

Cleveland took a 8-3 lead on Todd Hundley's 35th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Cincinnati pitcher Jim Abbott in the bottom of the eighth.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Hundley.
