Royals Stay Hot, Beat Rangers
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Arlington Stadium, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Rheal Cormier, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Kansas City has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Kansas City third baseman Quilvio Veras had a key at-bat for the Royals in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Texas pitcher Steve Shirley, Veras hit a 2-run single to make the score 5-1, Kansas City. For the day, he was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We're one win closer to our goal," Veras said in postgame remarks.
