Cubs Topple White Sox with Late Rally
|
Chicago right-hander Eric King made an effective start against the Chicago White Sox at Wrigley Field, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Doug Jones converted his 31st save in 37 tries. The Cubs bumped their record to 73-49 with this latest triumph.
Bob Brower aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said King.
