Expos Best Orioles in Pitching Duel
Montreal pitcher Pat Hentgen did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore Orioles, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hentgen got the win, improving to 8-7. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. Hentgen allowed no earned runs. At 69-53, the Expos have a slim two-game lead in the United League East Division.

It could have been a different outcome for Montreal, had it not been for Brian Harper, the 34-year old catcher . Harper contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Montreal up, 2-0.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Daniel Ward.
