Spiders Waste Great Game from Strawberry
The Cleveland Spiders got a superb performance from designated hitter Darryl Strawberry. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Cincinnati. The Reds won the game, 7-5. In spite of the loss, Strawberry was named the player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win boosts the Reds to 72-51. The loss puts the Spiders at 60-64.

Cincinnati grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Scott Rolen delivered a 2-run home run, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Reds.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Rolen said.
