Losing Streak Continues for Reds with 7-4 Loss to Devil Rays
|
Starting pitcher Andy Benes pitched well enough to help the Orlando Devil Rays beat the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 7-4. Benes picked up the win for Orlando, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 12-7. The Devil Rays, now 69-55, have won 4 in a row.
Jeff Bagwell contributed to the Orlando win. The former first round draft pick stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Bagwell was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Benes. "Successful pitchers do it."
