Loss to Marlins Extends New York Losing Streak
|
The Florida Marlins beat the New York Yankees, 8-5, at Yankee Stadium. The Marlins got a fine performance from third baseman Edgardo Alfonzo, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Wilson Alvarez was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts.
