The Minnesota Twins topped the Chicago White Sox, 7-4, in Federal League action at Metrodome. The player of the game was Minnesota pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native Juan Guzman. Guzman went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-5. The 5th-place Twins improved to 59-64.
Arquimedez Pozo contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the third. With the bases empty, he hit a triple. It was one at-bat that propelled Minnesota to the win.
In postgame comments to the Minnesota Bulletin, Pozo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
