Cardinals Get Road Win, 6-3
|
Cardinals catcher Jorge Posada put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Charlotte Knights. Posada was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for St. Louis in the contest. Steve Chitren was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 27 save opportunities. The Cardinals bumped their record to 63-60 with this latest triumph.
Doing his part for St. Louis was second baseman Dickie Thon, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, Thon was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Thon told the St. Louis Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
