Tibbs Dominant in St. Louis Win
St. Louis and Chicago duked it out at Busch Stadium and the Cardinals came out victorious.

The St. Louis Cardinals got a stellar performance from pitcher Jay Tibbs, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a 3-1 win at Busch Stadium. Steve Chitren was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 25 save opportunities.

Tibbs ran roughshod over the Chicago lineup. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 11-3 on the season.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cardinals manager Adam Rabel, "I like our chances."

The Cardinals bumped their record to 73-51 with this latest triumph.
