Rockies Continue Skid Thanks to Berroa, Padres
San Diego right fielder Geronimo Berroa was a significant contributor in his team's 13-6 triumph over the Colorado Rockies. He went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for San Diego. The 4th-place Rockies have lost 4 straight games.

Jim Edmonds had a big 3-run home run for the Padres in the bottom of the second inning. With San Diego leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Jeff Russell and stroked the home run to right. It was his 20th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Padres ahead, 4-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Berroa.
