White Sox Turn Back Rangers, 5-3
|
The Chicago White Sox picked up a win at Arlington Stadium, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 5-3. Starting pitcher David Nied played a key role in the triumph. Steve Howe notched his 5th save in 5 chances. Even with the win, the White Sox have a dismal 44-82 record.
One of the biggest contributors for Chicago was shortstop Orlando Miller. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, Miller got a full count changeup and drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That put the White Sox on top, 2-0.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Nied.
