Cubs Win at Minnesota, 9-5
|
Spirited fans at Metrodome greeted the Minnesota Twins for their clash with the Chicago Cubs.
The Chicago Cubs racked up a win at Metrodome, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 9-5. Willie Banks, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Minnesota now has a 6-game losing streak.
It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Chris Brown, the two-time All-Star . Brown contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Chicago up, 6-2.
"I liked his command," said Chicago manager Anthony Perez. "Willie was throwing strikes."
