Senators Prove Rude Guests, Win 3-1 at Montreal
The Montreal Expos got a superb performance from pitcher Pedro Martinez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Washington. The Senators won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Martinez was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The third-place Senators have won 4 consecutive games.
The Senators got a big at-bat from center fielder Jon Nunnally, who in the top of the seventh hit a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Senators on top, 2-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Nunnally said.
