Blue Jays Throttle Orioles, 6-1
|
Melido Perez never let Baltimore get something going. The Toronto right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Blue Jays to a 6-1 win. The Blue Jays now have a record of 67-60 with the win over Baltimore.
Shane Mack, who is a three-time All-Star, aided the Toronto cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a walk.
Mack said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
