Montreal Get 6-1 Win Behind Lefty Clemens
|
Pitcher Roger Clemens was sensational for the Montreal Expos in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Washington Senators. Clemens received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The first-place Expos, at 84-42, now lead their division by 4½ games.
Clemens allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7 innings for the Expos. He walked 1 and struck out 11.
"We're one win closer to our goal," Clemens said in postgame remarks.
