Dodgers Snatch 4-3 Win
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers knocked off the Seattle Pilots, 4-3, at Dodger Stadium. Chris Brown, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Los Angeles won. The first baseman was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Roger Clemens picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 2-0. Ricardo Rincon got the save, his 23rd in 28 chances.
Brown had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Dodgers went on to win.
Brown told a Los Angeles Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The first-place Dodgers have a one-game lead in their division.
