The Florida Marlins got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Chris Nabholz, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-2 decision over the Boston Red Sox. Paul Shuey converted his 5th save in 6 tries. Florida now has a 3-game win streak.

The Marlins got an important contribution from third baseman Matt Williams, who in the top of the seventh stroked a full count fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 5-2.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Nabholz told reporters after the game.
