Reds Take Tight Tilt, 4-3
The Cincinnati Reds did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jose Rijo, who captured player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Rijo surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The losing skid has reached 6 games for New York.

It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Tino Martinez, the 27-year old first baseman . Martinez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-0.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Martinez said.
