Cubs Stumble, Lose to Royals
|
Roberto Alomar left his imprint on the 9-4 Kansas City win against the Chicago Cubs. Alomar, who is tied for 4th in the FL with a .309 batting average, went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kansas City improves to 80-46 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.
In the bottom of the sixth, with Kansas City trailing 3-2, left fielder Reggie L. Sanders hit a bases-clearing triple. The hit came off Tim Burke and put the Royals ahead, 5-3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sanders.
