Expos Beat Visiting Senators, 3-1
The Washington Senators got a superb performance from pitcher John Burkett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Montreal. The Expos won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Burkett was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Washington now has a 5-game losing streak.

Having an impact for Montreal was Sean Casey. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the 23-year old first baseman had a run-scoring single to make the score 3-1, Expos.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Casey told the Montreal Herald.
