The Montreal Expos picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the Washington Senators, 6-3. Starting pitcher Ed Correa was an essential part of his team's success. Montreal reliever Mike Jeffcoat got the win, raising his record to 10-2. John Burkett was tagged with the loss. Ken Howell notched his 35th save in 43 chances.

Also pitching in for Montreal was left fielder Raul Mondesi, who hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, Mondesi went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Nothing fazes Ed," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.

Montreal goes to 85-42. The win puts them 5 games up in their division.
