Dodgers Squelch Pilots Offense in Shutout Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Seattle Pilots, 3-0, in United League action at Dodger Stadium. The player of the game was Los Angeles pitcher Bill Pulsipher. Lance Painter converted his 2nd save in 3 tries. The Dodgers bumped their record to 66-62 with this latest triumph.

The Dodgers got a big boost from shortstop Kevin Stocker who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning off Pilots hurler Pat Rapp. It was his 16th RBI of the season and put Los Angeles on top, 1-0.

"We had a good game plan," Pulsipher said, "and we were able to execute it."
