Twins Prove Rude Guests, Win 4-2 at Cincinnati
|
The Minnesota Twins got a good effort from starter Juan Guzman in defeating the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Guzman went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-5. Rob Dibble, credited with the save, is now 22 for 25 in save opportunities.
Scott Rolen had a chance to do some damage in the bottom of the ninth. With Cincinnati trailing 4-1, Cincinnati had runners on 1st and 3rd. Rolen hit a sacrifice fly. But it was not enough. Cincinnati would not finish the comeback.
The Twins now have a record of 56-71 with the win over Cincinnati.
