Yankees Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins put on quite a show at Yankee Stadium.
The New York Yankees managed to get by the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, at Yankee Stadium. New York pitcher Rick Aguilera took player of the game honors. New York reliever Andy Ashby picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-3. Rob Dibble was collared with the loss.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Derrick May came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Minnesota pitcher Rob Dibble, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 4-3.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," May said.
Minnesota now has a 8-game losing streak.
