The Chicago White Sox got a sterling performance from right fielder Dan Pasqua, but the Reds still prevailed, 10-9. Pasqua was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Todd Worrell was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities. The Reds bumped their record to 69-58 with this latest triumph.
This game was not decided until late. With two out in the top of the ninth, Matt Stairs reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. The Reds took the lead, 10-9.
"It feels good to get this one," Stairs told the Cincinnati Daily News.
