Royals Lose to Yankees, 2-1
|
The New York Yankees took Kansas City pitcher Denny Neagle's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Royals Stadium. The final score had New York getting past the Royals, 2-1. Neagle went 9 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 4. Even with the win, the Yankees have a dismal 31-96 record.
New York third baseman Chris Sabo laid a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the sixth. It was his 9th home run of the season. With it, the Yankees took a 2-1 lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Sabo. "Wins have been hard to come by."
