Marlins Win at Charlotte, 9-5
|
The Florida Marlins topped the Charlotte Knights by the score of 9-5, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Mark Kotsay. Kotsay was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Marlins. Florida goes to 78-50. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
The Marlins got a lift from right fielder Rondell White who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning off Erik Hanson. It was his 58th RBI of the season and put Florida in front, 1-0.
