Blue Jays Bridle Pilots, 3-2
|
The Seattle Pilots got a superb performance from pitcher Alex Fernandez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toronto. The Blue Jays won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Fernandez was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Toronto has now won 3 in a row.
Carlos Delgado wielded some clout for Toronto. The designated hitter had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth for the Blue Jays. It put his team ahead, 3-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Delgado was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a good effort all around," said Delgado.
