Pilots Come Up Short at Baltimore
The Baltimore Orioles faced a tough opponent in Seattle pitcher Randy Johnson, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Memorial Stadium by a final score of 2-1. Johnson went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Roger McDowell got the save, his 28th in 30 chances. Baltimore is now riding a 4-game win streak.

The Orioles grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Bill Spiers hit a solo home run off Randy Johnson, putting Baltimore in front, 2-0. For Spiers, it was his 9th home run of the season.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Seattle skipper Robert O'Neill.
