Colorado and Toronto duked it out at Mile High Stadium and the Rockies came out victorious.

Colorado pitcher Jason Schmidt did his part in helping his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Schmidt picked up the win for Colorado, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 10-7. Joey Eischen earned his 30th save in 31 chances.

The Rockies got an important contribution from right fielder Dmitri Young, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-2 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 24th double of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Young told the Colorado News.

The Rockies saw their win-loss record go to 59-68. At the same time, the Blue Jays fell to 74-53.
