Senators Win at Los Angeles, 4-1
|
The Washington Senators topped the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-1, in United League action at Dodger Stadium. The player of the game was Washington pitcher and Cuba native Livan Hernandez. Troy Percival converted his 29th save in 33 tries. The Senators bumped their record to 73-55 with this latest triumph.
Washington catcher Jason Kendall gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Senators leading 2-1, Kendall got hit by a pitch.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Kendall said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
