Minnesota and Cleveland took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Minnesota Twins faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Nate Minchey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at League Park by a final score of 7-4. Minchey went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Juan Guzman picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-5. He struck out 6 in 5 innings.

It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Brook Fordyce, the 26-year old catcher . Fordyce contributed a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put Minnesota up, 3-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Minnesota manager Darren Fischbach.

The 5th-place Twins now have a win-loss record of 62-66.
