|
The Seattle Pilots downed the Baltimore Orioles, 7-4, at Memorial Stadium. Edgar Martinez led the way, going 3-for-3 for Seattle. Seattle reliever John Franco picked up the win, bumping his record to 7-7. Dave Walsh was collared with the loss. The Pilots, at 77-52, lead by one game in their division.
Seattle took the lead with no one out in the top of the tenth when Paul O'Neill stroked a solo home run. That made the score 5-4 in favor of Seattle. For the day, O'Neill was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I had some good swings out there," said Martinez.
