Cubs Prevail, 1-0, Over Boston
|
The Boston Red Sox wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Willie E Adams, falling 1-0 to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Chicago now owns a record of 58-71.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from third baseman Scott Cooper. For the game, Cooper went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Chicago a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Cooper, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
