Expos Walk Off with 7-6 Win
The home team gave the Olympic Stadium fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.

The Montreal Expos eked out a 7-6 win versus the San Diego Padres at Olympic Stadium. Nobody did more than center fielder Alex Cole, who captured player of the game honors. Montreal reliever Mike Jeffcoat picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Robb Nen took the loss.

Gregg Jefferies went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Montreal. In the bottom of the ninth, with the teams deadlocked, 6-6, Jefferies delivered for the Expos. His run-scoring single put Montreal on top, 7-6.

"I like our moxie," said Expos manager David Polakoff.

The Expos bumped their record to 79-51 with this latest triumph.
