Cubs Fall Short at Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Spiders got a stellar effort from pitcher Sterling Hitchcock, helping Cleveland score a 3-2 win over the visiting Chicago Cubs. Steve Karsay notched his 28th save in 41 chances. Cleveland now sits at 63-68, while Chicago falls to 58-72.
Cleveland took a 3-2 lead on Darryl Strawberry's 38th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Chicago pitcher Antonio Osuna in the bottom of the eighth.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Strawberry said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
