Twins Get Road Win, 3-2
|
Mark Clark pitched well, but the New York Yankees still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium. Darren Oliver got the win, improving to 9-11. He held the Yankees to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Minnesota now sits at 57-73, while New York falls to 44-86.
Koji Akiyama put Minnesota in front, 3-1, when he took Mark Clark downtown. His solo home run came with two out in the top of the fourth. It was his 22nd home run of the season.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Akiyama.
