The Milwaukee Creams racked up a win at Milwaukee County Stadium, bumping off the Orlando Devil Rays, 3-1. Matt Young, who started for Milwaukee, pitched effectively for his team. Young picked up the win for Milwaukee, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 15-3. Rob Murphy, credited with the save, is now 12 for 18 in save opportunities.
John Elway had a big run-scoring double for the Creams in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from John Smoltz and stroked the double to left. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Creams ahead, 2-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Milwaukee manager Sean Norman, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Creams bumped their record to 75-57 with this latest triumph.
