Mets Turn Back Los Angeles, 5-4
|
New York Mets starter Frank Castillo was in fine form against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Shea Stadium, leading his team to a 5-4 win. With the win over Los Angeles, the Mets improved to 72-59.
New York center fielder Lance Johnson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball into right-center field for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 4-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Johnson told the New York Citizen.
