Alomar Jr. Helps Giants Beat Blue Jays
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-7, in United League action at SkyDome. Sandy Alomar Jr. received player of the game honors. The 8-year veteran was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Randy Myers earned his 23rd save in 25 chances. The first-place Giants, at 73-58, now lead their division by 3½ games.

Carlos Baerga contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the third. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat that helped San Francisco get the win.
