Martinez Spins Shutout
Pedro Martinez of the Montreal Expos humiliated the Arizona Diamondbacks at Olympic Stadium today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 3 hits.

"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Arizona manager Alen Maglajac, after the game.

Martinez whiffed 11 and walked 0 in the 8-0 win.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Martinez said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

Up to now Martinez has compiled an ERA of 2.13 with a 19-5 mark over 27 starts. He has 345 strikeouts in 220 innings and has held opponents to a .158 batting average.
