Mets Fall Short at Colorado
Colorado rode a good effort from starter Al Leiter to beat the New York Mets at Mile High Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Robb Nen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-4. Wayne Edwards was tagged with the loss. The Rockies bumped their record to 74-56 with this latest triumph.

Paul Molitor took Wayne Edwards deep in the bottom of the 11th. His solo home run put the Rockies in front, 2-1. For the game, Molitor was 1-1 with a home run.

Molitor told a Colorado Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
