Padres Lose, 6-3, at RFK Stadium
|
The Washington Senators bested the San Diego Padres by a score of 6-3, with third baseman Willie Greene getting the main credit. On the day, Greene went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Senators. Even with the win, the Senators have a dismal 44-88 record.
Greene had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Senators went on to win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana.
