Tigers Lose Again, 6-2, to Rockies
|
The Colorado Rockies got a strong performance from pitcher Jack McDowell, who stymied the Detroit offense en route to a 6-2 win at Mile High Stadium. McDowell, now 14-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. The slumping Tigers have lost 7 straight.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Rockies took a 6-0 lead when Darrin Fletcher hit a grand slam.
"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Fletcher.
