Red Sox Solve White Sox, 4-3
|
The Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox played an exciting game at Fenway Park.
Boston beat Chicago at Fenway Park, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Pete Harnisch, who earned player of the game honors. Boston is now 50-83, Chicago 60-72.
Edgar Renteria, the 8th overall pick in the 1995 draft, aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a double.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Chicago manager Tyler Vuxta.
