Rangers Stymie Cincinnati, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1. Starting pitcher Kenny Rogers was an essential part of his team's success. With the victory, the Rangers record now stands at 65-67.
The Rangers beat the Reds with some clutch hitting. The home run by John Elway in the top of the first is a good example. With two down, Elway gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Elway. "And not try to do too much."
