White Sox Beat Visiting Red Sox, 7-4
|
The Chicago White Sox relied on the hitting of first baseman Kevin Reimer to stop the Boston Red Sox, 7-4. For the game, Reimer went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Even with the win, the White Sox have a dismal 46-88 record.
Reimer had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 fastball from John Ericks, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the White Sox a 6-4 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Reimer.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said White Sox manager Tyler Vuxta. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
