Montreal left-hander Chris Nabholz pitched his team to victory over the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. The final score was 7-3. Ed Correa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 29 save opportunities. The Expos have an impressive 87-47 record.

The Expos grabbed the lead in the top of the eighth. With two out, Jeff Kent hit a solo home run off Takehiro Ishii, putting Montreal in front, 5-3. For Kent, it was his 26th home run of the season.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Kent.
