Orioles Raise Rally Flag, Beat New York, 2-1

The Orioles had to overcome a fine performance from New York pitcher Takehiro Ishii to grab a 2-1 win at Shea Stadium. Ishii allowed 2 earned runs over 7 innings. The winner was Russ Springer in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Takehiro Ishii took the loss. Baltimore is now riding a 3-game win streak.
In the top of the eighth inning with one out, Baltimore second baseman John Wehner hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, Orioles. For the day, Wehner was 1 for 4.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said New York manager Michael Kritikos. "The effort was great."
