Rockies Get Close Win Over Dodgers
|
Dodger Stadium was the site of the home opener for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The contest featured a prime matchup between Curt Schilling of the visiting Colorado Rockies and Greg Maddux of the Dodgers. The final score was 5-4, the Rockies getting the win. Earning player of the game honors was Greg Maddux. Mike Timlin was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Colorado used the bat of Glenn Davis to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rockies ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Feels good to get the job done," Davis said after the game.
