Extra-Inning Win by Mets over Expos
|
New York Mets starter Jason Isringhausen was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Montreal Expos, 4-3. New York is now 78-57, while Montreal is 87-48.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Greg Colbrunn came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Montreal pitcher Bobby Munoz, he hit a 0-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 4-3.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Montreal manager David Polakoff. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
