Diamondbacks Beat Visiting Rockies, 7-5
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies, 7-5, in United League action at Bank One Ballpark, with Arizona left fielder Moises Alou named player of the game. Danny Patterson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 36 save opportunities. Arizona's record now stands at 68-67, placing them second in the United League West Division.
Alou provided the big break for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single, helping Arizona to get the win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Alou. "And not try to do too much."
