Bob Hamelin did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Colorado Rockies from losing, 9-7, to the Oakland Athletics at Mile High Stadium. Hamelin was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Even with the win, the Athletics have a dismal 45-89 record.

Oakland used the bat of Devon White to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 9-7. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said White.
