Marlins Lose to Spiders, 4-2
|
Cleveland Spiders starter Juan Nieves turned in an exceptional performance against the Florida Marlins at League Park, resulting in a Cleveland win, 4-2. Steve Karsay earned the save, his 3rd, for the Spiders. At 9-5, the Spiders have played well so far.
Cleveland took a 4-1 lead on Darryl Strawberry's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Florida pitcher Wilson Alvarez in the bottom of the seventh.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Cleveland manager Wilson Ogle.
