Orioles Lose, 4-2, at Shea Stadium
|
New York starter Frank Castillo had a strong outing against the Baltimore Orioles at Shea Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. In 7 innings, Castillo surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Mets raised their record to 75-61.
Bret Boone had a productive at-bat for the Mets with one out in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the second baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run. The at-bat was important in the New York win.
"I like our moxie," said Mets manager Michael Kritikos.
